According to Author: Martha Williams's posting on Watts Message Board dated 17 Aug 2003: Looking for ANY information on Luther L. Watts. He was my grandfather.
b. Jan 31, 1886, d. Jan 27, 1956. Father: Sebe Mother: Mary Argo. m. Serepta, b. Mar 8, 1884, d. Aug 15, 1966.
All are buried in Black Oak Cemetery, Cherokee Co. Al. I know they were in Etowah County Al. at one time. Moved to DeKalb Co. Alabama. Luther and Serepta had two daughters, Martha (my mother) and Era.
They adopted Twins, William and Alice. Any information would be appreciated.
According to my notes, Luther L. "Luke" Watts (1886-1956) was son to Seaborn T. "Sebe" Watts (b. March 1825 GA)and wife Mary Argo.Seaborn T. is one of 12 known children born to Thomas B. Watts (b. 1794 GA) and wife Hannah who listed 1850 in DeKalb County, Alabama, age 56.By 1870 Hannah WATTS (widowed) was listed with daughter Susan WATTS Jordan (wife of Henry Jordan). If you wish additional info, I can put you in touch with another descendant of Thomas B. Watts et al....
