My husband's gr-gr-grandfather Jacob Garvin married Margaret (Peggy) Watts and they lived
in Derryfield (now part of Litchfield and Manchester), next to her father, John Watts and his wife Susannah. Part of their land was in Londonderry. I have been to the site of their farm on the Merrimack River, some of which is now part of the Manchester airport. I have been to the cemetery where they are buried in Londonderry.
According to my research using a source I am not 100% positive is correct, John Watt came to Londonderry NH from Londonderry, Ireland as a baby in 1740 with his father James and siblings Hugh, Moses, Eleanor, and James.
John, Moses, and Hugh all fought in the Revolutionary War. John did have a daughter Susannah who died in 1840;she married William Fling. I have seen her gravestone as well. Her two older sisters married into the Garvin family. Susannah Watts Fling had three sons, but I have a marriage record for John W. Fling only. I have death records for the other two.
My major interest is in Susannah, wife of John Watts. I believe she may have been a daughter of Daniel Kidd of Derry, NH and that two of her sisters married into the Garvin family as well, but have only the suggestion of this (and no proof) from the will of Daniel Kidd of Kingston, who died when his daughters were young. His land in Derry was divided 20 years after his death among his wife (who remarried) and six daughters, whose married names are given in the record. Do you have any information on Susannah, wife of John Watt(s)?
