James Watts served in Capt. Nevitts company of the South Carolina militia from Oct. 6, 1814 until March of 1815.He filed for a pension in Pickens county, Alabama in 1874 and recieved $8.00 per month under the War of 1812 act of 1871.He homesteaded land in pickens county where the town of Aliceville is now located.The land was given to him by the government in 1821.Hope this will help you some.
