Hi, Grant - hope this information may be of some use to you.
John Evans, labourer, son of George Evans, farmer of Ballymoghan, married 13Jul1874 at The Woods Chapel Church of Ireland, Lisnamorrow, to Sarah Watterson, daughter of Gabriel Watterson, farmer of Ballymulderg.
Sarah was born 18Sep1851 at Ballymulderg to Gabriel Watterson and Eliza Moore and baptised at The Woods 26Oct1851.Gabriel and Eliza did not marry at The Woods although they may have married about 1838 according to the baptism records at The Woods -
Richard - bap. 22Mar1839
Mary Ann - bap. 24Oct1841
Eliza Ann - b. 5Apr1844 bap. 28Ap41844
William - b. 11Nov1846 bap. 22Nov1846
Margaret - b. Mar1849 bap. 22Apr1850
Henry - b. 17Jul1854 bap. 27Aug1854
Ellen - b. 5Jun1858 bap. 29Aug1858
(Gabriel and Eliza may have married in the Moravian Church at Gracefield, Ballymaguigan. The Wattersons appear to have jumped in and out of the Moravian Church at the drop of a hat :-)This can be very useful because the Moravians kept excellent records.)
Gabriel was buried in The Woods churchyard on 21Apr1874 aged 68 years.Eliza I don't know about.
The Woods baptism records appear to credit John and Sarah Evans of Ballymoghan with two children -
Eliza - b. 23Apr1874 bap. 14Feb1875
William George - b. 15Nov1876 bap. 24Sep1876
However, there is a far greater authority on the Wattersons than I - I'll have a word.
Good hunting,
Tom Harkness
