Re the posting by Glen Carruthers on the connection of Cook into the Watt line.

In my particular case the name of Cook was taken from the family of Harry Cook. This family were such great friends of my gg grandfather (Lt. William Watt) that 2 successive generations of children (male only) took the name Cook as part of their given names.

My great grandfather, the only son of Lt Watt who came to Australia in 1856 was given the name of Williiam Harry Cook Watt.

Other names to appear in my line is Winnall who married one of the 2 daughters of Lt Watt who in turn marrried a Edward Winnall in England in 1857. Thus the youngest son of her brother (WHC Watt) was given the name of Edgar Edward Winnall Watt.

Strange is it not.

Regards
Bruce Watt
