Hi Leonard

It's good to finally find someone with connections to this family.

Hezekiah is also my (late) husband's great grandfather through Margaret however you already know that.

I do have a copy of Hezekiah's death certificate which states that he was born in Ireland but unfortunately doesn't say where and he had been in Australia 40 years. He died in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on 24 August 1885 of Typhoid Fever which was running rampant in the Newtown area where he resided before his death. It also states that he had 8 children but I have not heard of William before but do know of the others. Do you think that the fact that there are 2 Janes may mean someone was tired when they were writing in the names at BDM and put 2 Janes instead of 1 Jane and William as all the info I have looked at there is definitely no William. Just a thought.

He married Elizabeth Campbell in Araluen at a Catholic Church. According to shipping documents which I have seen at the local library he was protestant though he may have converted at the time of his marriage. Sometimes they had to at the time or at least agree to any children being brought up in the Catholic faith.

This is all I know.

I hope that maybe you might have some other information you can pass on to me for Russell's (my husband) family. Now the big question - do you have any photos?

I await your reply.

Marion
