Margaret Latter nee Watt

I am trying to trace my husband's grandmother Margaret Latter nee Watt.

What we do know is that she lived around the Redfern area in Sydney Australia. In 1906 she married Albert Charles Latter and in 1910 they had a son Albert Latter whose name later became Scrivener.

She became a widow owing to her husband being killed in action in January 1917 in France where he is buried in a war cemetery there.

In April 1917 she went to work at a place called Merribee at Barellan in southern NSW. Afterwards she went to work at a place called either Napperly or Mapperly at Mullaley near Gunnedah. According to Veterans Affairs she died in Newington Hospital in Lidcombe which is now part of Silverwater Jail.

There are a number of women named Margaret Watt who lived in the Redfern area but we are not sure which one is her. After she and Albert married they lived in Morehead Street and he is listed on the 1906 electoral roll as a dealer which I presume means in secondhand goods. I could be wrong.

If anyone knows her name and possibly any relatives or their descendants could they contact me at Anne_47@optusnet.com.au

Thank you.

Marion Scrivener
