Nancy Watson, Muir's. Pa, Ky, Oh, Mo Watsons
Am trying to locate my cousin Nancy Watson in Pa. - am in need of help on looking up the Watson's of Larimer and Irwin Pa.Our grandfather was Robert C. Watson 1892 - 1958 - married to Elsie Muir.
Robert C. was son of Thomas Watson 1868 - 1947, who was son of Robert Watson who was born in Scotland 1837 - 1911.
Robert came here in 1858 - I believe arrived here on October 15 1858 along with brother Thomas T. who were on the SS City of Baltimore from Liverpool.
I believe Robert's brother Thomas T. Watson 1839 - 1923 moved out to Missouri - and had married Ellen G Thompson abt 1864 in Ohio first.Thomas T. died abt 1923 I have learned, in Rich Hill Missouri Bates County.
I have alot of questions - needed to understand why Thomas T. Watson's death cert says his father was 'George' - when we beleved it was Thomas Aitchison Watson - born 1807 died 1839 - who was married to Charlotte Stevenson ??On the death cert, the maiden name of his mother looks nothing like Charlotte Stevenson either ... ???
Any help would be greatly appreciated - this October 15th marks the 150th anniversary of great great grandafather Robert coming here to this country. He was a civil war veteran I am told.Bet he was sure rethinking his choice after being thrust into the civil war after being here only a couple years !!!To fight a war he had nothing to do with.
I am son of Janet Watson, who is daughter of Robert C. Watson.
I had heard tale of Thomas Aitchison WAtson 1807-1839 had died before his father, John Watson 1781 - abt 1858/1859 - in Scotland - and that Robert WAtson (son of Thomas Aitchison WAtson) had traveled back to Scotland when he learned his grandfather was sick and dieing.I understand he did not make it - and his grandfather John died while Robert was on the train to see him in Scotland.
I am believing then that Robert never knew his father, since his father died in 1839 - when Robert was 2 years old. I would guess he was close to his grandfather then for his whle young life till coming here in 1858. Would certainly like to know more on that story...
I also have nothing on the Muir's either - and would like help on that - since I named after my mother's uncle who never had any kids himself.
Thanks
Ross
