I am looking for any descendants of Estelle Teels, or perhaps Tellez, She is the sister of my grandfather George Washington Teels. She is said to have married an unknown Watson. She is said to have lived in the area of West Texas, El Paso, area or even a while in Oklahomas. We are told she came for a visit to the family the 1920's and 30's. He settled in Oklahoma after the land run and married Mary Elize Ely, my grandmother. They had five children.
He was born in about 1872 in the White Oaks, NM area, and she was his younger sister. He ran away from home when he was very young. GW Teels was shot to death in 1910.
We are fairly sure the name Teels was Americanize from an Hispanic name. GW Teels was said to have looked somewhat Hispanic and his nickname was "Mec".
His children were very young when he died. We really have very few clues to their origin.
