Just wanted to embellish the Douglas Watson information a little.
When a lady named Mary Parks wrote her will in Prince Edward County on June 7, 1774, [PE WB 1, page 165], she named her sister Rosana Fulton and her cousin (niece?) Mary Fulton. Mary Parks’ children were: Ezekiel Parks, Joseph Parks, James Parks, Margaret Watson, Douglas Watson, Andrew Wallace and Catherine Wallace. They were to divide equally her property.Witnesses were (Rev.) Richard Sanky (or Lanky?) and Frances Gillespie. It was hard to tell from the deed whether Douglas Watson was actually the son of Mary Parks or the son-in-law, but there was a marriage record in PE county on August 3, 1761 in which Douglas Watson married Margaret Parks, with Peter LeGrand as surety. [Knorr, Marriage Bonds and Ministers’ Returns of PE County Va. 1754-1810, page 81.]The same is true for Andrew Wallace. Previous to this time, James and Mary Parks of Prince Edward County “gave” 200 acres to their son Joseph Parks on both sides of Fort Creek adjoining said Joseph Parks, Randolph, James Fulton, and the pasture Branch.Witnesses were George Ewing, Robert Hanna, William Watson, Jr.The deed was recorded on May 21, 1764. [PE DB 2 page 210-a.]
