Research of Paul Brumback regarding WATSON family
All of the birthdates for Evan Thomas WATSON and Lucy COLEMAN's children were published by Sherriann Nicol in her compilation THE COLEMAN FAMILY OF MOBJACK BAY VIRGINIA, but she did not cite a source. When I contacted Sherriann, she no longer had her source notes, but she sent me the names of who she thought she had received the information from. I contacted all of these, and by process of elimination, I suspect she received this information from a Paul Brumback, who had died a few months prior to my attempt to contact him. All of his (I'm told extensive) genealogy research was sent to another relative, whom I have had little luck in coaxing to review Mr. Brumback's research for the WATSON family.
I've long suspected that this detailed information could have only come from a family bible - of either a COLEMAN, or a WATSON, and perhaps even from Evan's bible, or one of his children. In searching the 1810 census, there are only five BRUMBACKs listed, with three of them are in MADISON CO., KY! This would lead me to believe that Mr. Brumback spent some time researching in Madison County, and that maybe he found this vital WATSON information there.
Does anyone know of Mr. Brumback's research?
