my Grandfather was named Charles Henry Dunbavin born to Thomas(?) and Katharine Elizabeth Dunbavin. in 1851. He immigrated to the U.S. about 1875. I have not been able to establish his birth place although the U.S. Immigration carried him as a citizen of Great Britain.He had a brother Thomas and a sister Tarquina who he left in England when he immigrated to this country. There is a possiblity that he was born in Valencia, Spain because his Mother was supposedly Spanish. I have not been able to find his birth place or anything else about his family in England despite many years of trying. He died in the fall from a mast of a ship in 1893 and is buried in Philadelphia, Pa. Do you have any birth place for Mary Dunbavin?
There were some Dunbavin's located north of Manchester, England but my Charles was not one of them.
