With the Texas death certificates online, I have been able to find out more information on my Watkins side.
I specifically looking for information on John Henry Watkins who was born to James Watkins (possibly of South Carolina or Scotland - handwriting difficult to read in census) and Martha Coker (marriage documented as July 22, 1841 Union County, Arkansas), both died prior to 1850 as their two children (son also listed as James Wadkins)are living with Martha's father Sampson Coker in the 1850 census of Franklin County. The Cokers (and grandson) then moved to San Antonio, Texas where John Henry Watkins married Annie Crawford and worked as a carpenter. Note that two census lists the surname as Wadkins, but all other records list as Watkins.
