Watkins line in Tonga
I'm not researching this line, but was recently interested in an old bible that was for sale on ebay. There was writing in the inside, and so I asked someone to translate it for me just out of curiousity. Here's the information he gave me below. Hope it helps someone.
Ko au Isileli Fehoko
Ko e ki'i tohi 'eni
aaku, koe me'a ofa a
Misi Uatekini
i Haapai
It is I Isileli Fehoko,
This little book
of mine, is a gift of
Misi Uatekini
of Haapai.
Misi is a name that means "Mr."so the name Uatekini actually means "Mr. Watkins".He was a European who lived in Haapai. He married a Tongan and they had a lot of children and that must be the origin of the Uatekni (Watkins) clan.
