On FreeBMD there is a birth for Edward Waterman March Quarter 1863 Maidstone Dist 2a-499
Marden is in the Maidstone District.
You can order the birth certificate on line and this will give the mother's maiden name.

There is a marriage for a William Waterman and Ann Medhurst on the LDS Family Search site. Married 11 February 1861 Strood Near Rochester Kent. But...on the 1861 census both William and Ann appear to be single. The census was taken on the 7th of April. So there seems to be an error somewhere. Unless they were already secretly married! but living with their respective families.
