Dear Bill I found a Census entry for 1881 which might interest you: Samuel Yearly WATERER was Master of Whitechapel Workhouse (South Grove, Mile End Old Town, London). Samuel Yearly WATERER was 34 and was born in Newington Surrey. His wife Maria was born in Catton, Norfolk and was 36 and was Matron of the Workhouse. They had 2 girls then ~ Blanche Emma was 8 years old and Eleanor Harriet was 7 years. The children were both born in Aldgate, Whitechapel. 'Yearly' ~ sounds like his mother's maiden name?? cathy
