a Wasson tale for all-- James Wasson born 1809 TN s/o Joseph 1783 married #1 Elizabeth Reddick #2 Nancy Traverse #3 Claramon Baucher and had children: Fleming H.1837 Fountain 1837 & John 1841.James was shot and killed LaPorte IN 1843 by Gen. Beardsley of Michigan for seducing his daughter and refusing to marry her.His widow Claramon re-married David Ayers.Of his sons: Fleming H. went to Kansas married an Indian women Mrs.Catherine Goddard who operated the Wasson hotel in Welch Oklahoma he died in 1905 in Welch of Texas Cattle Fever.Fountain lived with his cousin John W.1835 s/o Newton/Polly and died in 1880 in DeWitt ILL,They both served in Indiana Regiments during the Civil War.John A. volunteered for service in the Confederate Army 16th Mississippi Infantry captured twice, wounded once and went on to Ray Mo and worked with George I Wasson 1819 TN s/o Abner/Elizabeth the Mayor,also the President of the Richmond Bank robbed by Jesse James gang 1867.John A. married a Clara Belle Pendrog in 1871 and last heard from running a saloon in Missouri 1881.
