Joseph, John and Hiram Wasson of Iowa
In 1837 or '39, Joseph, John and Hiram Wasson and a party called the "bee hunters" from Burlington, Iowa came to the site on the English River in Lime Creek Township, Washington County, Iowa, which would become Wassonville, Iowa.In the following spring they settled the town site that would set on two early and significant trails in Eastern Iowa.Project Wassonville 2005 has been organized by a handful of local residents to gather and verify additional Wasson family and Wassonville history related to this important early Iowa town, and the early trails. The history and description of Project Wassonville 2005 can be found by doing a GOOGLE search on "Project Wassonville" or reply to this posting on the Wasson forum. Thanks!
