I also have the newspaper reports - at least the first report before William Wass died and the report of the execution with a reprise of the events.
I have been unable to visit Essex for a while, but do have the whereabouts of Wm Wass and Eliza (nee Everett) in 1881 when they were all listed as "Wash" but for Eliza! They were at Ardleigh.
I also have copy birth certificate for Hector, William's son.
I would like to know more about the Sadler family, but that has been put on one side for the time being. There were, as you will know, many Sadler families in the area. The Wass family had a connection by marriage with Sadlers at Mile End.
If you have more newspaper reports I would love to hear about them, especially any that give further details of any of the 5 children of William Wass.
By the way, William was living in Broad Lane Elmstead 1841, and his grandfather may have been a brother of my Gtx4 Grandfather - they both seem to have originated in the Chappel area.
