I am just beginning to look into my geneology background. My grandmother on my mother's side had the last name of Wasinger. Her name is Germaine. She married Edgar Barker. I believe she is one of 13 children. She is 92 years old. I was able to find a booklet with geneology information regarding the Wasingers, dating back to Joe Wasinger and his wife Margaret. According to the book, they migrated from Germany(Bavaria) into Russia during the reign of Catherine the Great, supposeldy settling down in Graf(Krutogorewka) in 1764. They had 11 children, 5 boys and 6 girls.
Boys - John, Anton, Peter, Christofel, Peter
Girls - Mary Anna, Margretta, Susana, Christina, Katherine, Madalena. (I can also tell you who they married).
Anton is the famous Anton Wasinger, Sr. who married Katherine Bach(related to Johann Sebastian Bach I believe). He is the one who came over to the U.S. by boat. I don't have a record of which boat he came over on, I know he came over once to survey land in Nebraska and then went back to Russia to report on it, which lead to a large amount of people migrating from the Saragov area.
I dunno if this helps at all... just thought I'd share the info I had. If anyone wants a copy of this book, you can email me and I can try to xerox it for you. It has lots of information on all the children of Joe and his childrens children, etc...
