James Washington, Southampton, VA 1763
Posted by: Beth Carroll (ID *****8278) Date: January 13, 2012 at 09:00:21
  of 1783

I have a family history written by a cousin in 1992 that lists James Washington as my 4th Great-grandfather. He was married to Celia Hancock and their daughter, Winnifred Washington, is my third Great-grandmother. The information I am looking for is James' parents. The family history I have lists his parents as Richard Washington (1660-1725) and Elizabeth Jordan (born about 1682) who had 13 children. But this is not possible if James was born in 1763 and his father died in 1725. It looks like there may a generation missing. They lived in Southampton County, Virginia. Does anyone have any information that would help me?
