I am the great granddaughter of George Lafayette Washington, 1825-1872. He married in 1859 Anne Bull Clemson (her uncle was Thomas Green Clemson IV, founder of Clemson University in South Carolina.) George and Anne were the parents of Margaretta 1860-1917, (a noted artist whose illustrations of eye surgeries at the Wills Eye Hospital in Phila. are still in use); Louisa C. born 1862, died 1864; John C. 1865-1886; Martha, 1867-1957; Anne Harewood, 1869-1951, married to Edwin Fairfax Naulty 1906; Elizabeth Fisher, 1871-1953, also an artist(Pennsylvania Impressionist school) whose highly regarded paintings are owned by many museums and individuals.
My mother, Nancy Washington Naulty, (1907-1986) was the only child of Anne and E.F. Naulty. She was born in New York City and moved to Philadelphia at the age of three months and spent the rest of her life here. In 1932 she married Lawrence Jones Fuller. I was born in 1933 and my sister Beverly was born in 1937. She died in 2006.
