Thank you for the info! It is rumored in our family that we're distant cousins of Washington, but I wasn't much interested in the history until I got older. Now the people that I should ask are either dead or too old to remember what they were told. My great grandfather was Arthur Washington Garrison, and his dad was George Washington Garrison. Arthur had siblings Dova Iri Garrison & Vest Garrison. He had more, but I don't remember their names and I'd have to search hard for the info I got a long time ago. Arthur was married to Eulah Bell Alexander, their children are:
1. Roy Garrison
2. Lee Garrison
3. Emil Vernon Garrison (went by Vernon)
4. Dova Maud Garrison (my grandmother)
5. Dwight Garrison (grandma's twin)
6. Floyd Garrison
They lived in Kansas, I don't know how my grandma and grandpa ended up in California but that's where my parents/their siblings are from. Finally my grandmother and her brother Floyd ended up in TX.
I saw a post here naming a Zimri Garrison that might have had a son George Washington Garrison. But the name of the wife didn't sound familiar. I had a lead a long time ago that GW might have been married to a Sarah Wisner. Anyway there are lots of Garrisons in my family.
