I am not sure which Garrison family you mean. I am doing research on Samuel Washington who was George Washington's brother. It was Samuel Washington's home at Harewood that James Madison married Dolly Payne Todd. Dolly Payne's sister was married to Samuel Washington's son Steptoe Washington. Both General Lafayette and Alexander Hamilton were also in attendance at the wedding.

A Garrison/Kidd family does come into play here but I am not sure if they are the same Garrison's and Kidd's or it's all just a coincidence.

The coincidence does jump to actor Randolph Scott and his wife Marion Dupont and the home of James Madison. It also connects to Randolph Scott's sister and her husband Thornton Perry. The Thornton's and Perry's are related to the Washington's and Steptoe's.
