I am searching for the family of Anna Washburn born 18 Jul 1771 in Chester, Chester County, South Carolina, or maybe MA d 10 Aug 1853 Rockbridge, Ozark County, Mo. Some links in say she died in Texas but she was living with her great grandson-in-law at Rockbridge, Ozark County, MO. She died just after her grandson-in-law who died in McMinn County, TN (See below) She married Henry DYE son of SC Revoutionalry War soldier John Dye who fought with the Swamp Fox. Henry was born 1771 in Chester, Chester County, SC. He married Anna about 1789 and their first child, Sarah was born in the spring of 1790. Henry moved the family to Rutherford County, NC about 1800 because their daughter Angies Digh was born there in 1801. Their youngest known son was Guilbert Dye born 1803 Rutherford County, NC died in Feb. 9, 1853 about one day out from their home in Mcminn County, TN on the way to Missouri. Some believe he died of pneumonia, I am inclined not to believe this because they would not have left home with him sick. I think he was killed when a horse kicked him in the head while he was unharnessing it. Anna also married Casper Weber born 1770 died 1818 Rutherford County, NC. Please note that unlike people say, Casper was not her father, but her second husband. We have plenty of information about the Digh (dye) family in Rutherford county, NC but virtually none about Anna Washburn's family.
