The June 2009 issue of MAINE ANTIQUE DIGEST on p. 28-A has an article that pictures a portrait of Emory Washburn (1800-1877) who was Massachusetts Governor from 1854-55 and a Harvard Law School professor for 20 years thereafter. The article describes the sale of manuscripts and archives that were sold at auction at the Swann Galleries, NY City, on March 26, 2009. I have scanned the portrait and would be happy to email it freely to Washburn family researchers. Someone in the family ought to have it. My email address can be found by clicking my underlined name above. Please contact me by email at that address and not by posting a message on this Washburn website, which I might not see. If it were a portrait of an equally distinguished Pease family gentleman, I would certainly hope that someone would do the same for me. Bill Pease Notify Administrator about this message?
