Cephas Washburn -Dwight Mission

I am trying to make contact with the descendants of Cephas Washburn. There are Washburn family members that may be in possession of hard copy adoption records that were kept at Dwight Mission in Ar. and Ok. My great, great grandmother was taken to Dwight Mission in the early 1820’s in Ar. when her parents died, and was adopted from Dwight Mission in Ok. in 1835. I am trying to locate either these records, or perhaps a microfilm of these records. I was told that she had an Indian name when she was taken in; her name after being adopted was America. She was adopted by John and Ann Spears. Please contact me directly at: katbrink@yahoo.com

Thank you, Kathie
