Ernie,

You have been helpful in the past regarding my ancestral search for my wife's line - Washburn. She is descended from John and Susannah through their son Charles > Isaac Sr. > Isaac jr. > Eli Thomas > William > James H. > James G.(her father). I am trying to establish that Charles was recognized for his Revolutionary War service, so she can get another supplemental DAR patriot ancestor. The DAR has no record of anyone joing through descent from Charles, so my work is cut out. Any help would be appreciated.

Secondly, I have data from you via e-mail, GenForum post #1425 June 2000, that says that John was born about 1718. I am not trying to be a wise guy, but how can he be born about 1718 and get a land grant in Culpeper County in 1726 at the ripe old age of 8 years? Colonial law required you to be 21 to own land. Was there another John Washburn? HELP!!!

Thanks for your help,
Howard
