Washburns of Culpepper, Co. VA

I don't know how much this will help researchers of John and Susannah Washburn of Cul. Co. VA, but I have noticed that there is some confusion as to the dates of birth for their children and and also which children may have belonged to them and which may have belonged to thier son Ely. In will of John Washburn dated Sept. 3, 1778, found in "Culpepper Co. VA" by Dorothy Wolfeck, Legatees: wife Susannah Washburn. Son Lewis. Other children not named., Executors: Wife Susanna Washburn, son Eley Washburn. (So John and Suannah had sons Lewis and Eley and others.)

Indenture between Elias WAshburn and Haney his wife and Thomas Washburn, son, of Co. of Culpepper of one part and Samuel and Bazel Gordon of Co. of Stafford of other part. Signed by Moses Washburn, Elias Washburn, Haney Washburn and Thomas Washburn and others found in "Virginia Co. Court Records, Deed Abstracts of Cul. Co. VA 1792-1793" (Shows that Elias--Ely--and Haney had a son Thomas.)

From "Abstracts from the County Court Minute Book of Culpeper Co. VA 1763-1764" Anthony McKettrick & Co. v. Lewis Washbourne. Judgt against Dft. & Richard Nalle, surety. (I don't know who this Lewis Washbourne was, but if this was the son of John and Susannah Washburn, he could not have been born as late as I have seen his date of birth as this is a 1763 or 1764 record.)

Also, I don't know how early John Washburn came to Culpeper Co. VA, but I did find this in "Culpeper Co. VA Deeds, Vol. One 1749-1755": Pages 21-23. 20 July 1749. James Pendleton and Elizabeth his wife of Culpeper County to John Washburn of same. For 5 shillings. 269 acres on the north Little Fork of Rappa: River...said Pendleton's tract of land...Cabbin Branch...Willis's line...head of a valley corner to Francis Browning...corner of said Washburn...
Jas. Pendleton, Eliza: Pendleton
20 July 1749. Acknowledged by James Pendleton and Elizabeth his wife.

I am of the NJ Washburns and don't have a lot of information about the Cul. Co. VA Washburns, but think perhaps these two Washburn families are somehow related. Am still seeking any information about Lemuel Washburn and Jeremiah Washburn of Sussex Co. NJ.
