Martha Washam or Wassham Parkhill
Posted by: James Parkhill (ID *****6098) Date: November 22, 2004 at 06:04:57

Martha Wassham/Washam married David Parkhill August 3, 1799 Many record her as the daughter of Jeremiah and Anne McDowell Worsham. But Alabama records shows that she and David Parkhill intermarried. David Parkhill was not Indian. It would seem that Martha was, since her name was Wassham and her adoptive father name was Worsham. Is this the reason why David Parkhill had to pay $1250.00 for his marriage bond with John Sevier and John Trimble
Is there any Wasshams or Worshams on the Cherokee Rolls
