Wasgatt Family Genealogy Forum

Hi, I'm sort of late to the party... What I know is that my grandmother's great aunt, Sarah Wasgatt, was a member of DAR. I just received a copy of her application for membership. According to Sarah, her parents were Tyler R. Wasgatt and Araminta Thompson. Tyler was the son of Moses Wasgatt and Eunice Higgins (Eunice is the daughter of Levi Higgins, Rev. War Soldier).
On her application Sarah, bless her heart, wrote that Moses was the son of Thomas Wasgatt and Margaret Davis-then she crossed it out, I assume, because the information did not matter for her application since it was Levi that she was trying to prove a relationship to.
Anyway, other's I have communicated with online say that it is very confusing as to whether Moses was the son of Thomas and Margaret or the son of their son Thomas and his wife Eunice Robbins. The dates I have for Thomas I, Margaret and Moses are in question, but even so, if Moses were to be married to Eunice Higgins, born 8/29/1772 it is unlikely that he is the child of a couple (Margaret-b abt. 1720 and Thomas I, b abt. 1725) married in 1745.
In anycase, I have, up to this point accepted that the Wasgatt tree goes back to Capt. Adam Westgate, unless some one knows of a reason that that is not correct.
