Hello Mike,

I didn't get email when you did your post either. So I haven't found your post until just now.

Thank you for your info. I haven't lived in Virginia since I was a little girl, however I do go up to visit my dad. I was looking on the map for Newville, Virginia. It seems there is one is Sussex County and one in Prince George County. Is it right to assume that the Newville you are talking about is in Prince George County? It seems that most of the Warthans I have found in the censuses are in Prince George County. My dad lives in Richmond and would like to stop and look at the Warthan plot.

I have researched back from Arthur and come to a grinding halt at William Warthan, father of Joseph Warthan.

I found info about Arthur on the The Library of Virginia Website. It was arecording of Arthur & Virginia (Bishop) Warthan in the old Bishop family bible. It was very neat to look at.

Thank you for the info. I wasn't able to find out your email. Mine is . It would be neat to talk to someone else researching the Warthan line.
