Archibald Warriner (1774 VA - 1831 TN)
Here's the information I've been given:
Archibald Warriner Jr. was born 1774 in Henrico County, Virginia. He married Oma/Neoma Eppes about 1793 in Virginia. He died August 1831 in White County, Tennessee.
He was the son of Archibald Warren Sr., Revolutionary War soldier, who was born 1753 in Henrico County, Virginia, died 1833 in Northampton County, North Carolina. He was the son of David & Mary Sikes Warriner.
Archibald and Neoma Eppes Warriner had the following nine children:
Archibald Warriner, 1794 in Virginia
Eppes (Eppa, Eppy) Warriner, 1796 in Virginia
John Warriner, 1805
George Franklin Warriner, born 1810, died 1894 in Wise County, Texas
William M. Warriner, born 1813 in Madison County, Alabama; married Winnifred May Short, 1835 in Calloway County, Kentucky; died 1883 in Alvord, Wise, Texas.
Martha Warriner, born 1818 in Alabama; married Absalom Nichols, 1839 in Calloway County, Kentucky; died 1871 in Johnson County, Illinois.
Mary Warriner, born 1822 in Tennessee; married William Cutchin about 1842 in Calloway/Marshall County, Kentucky; died 1858, Marshall County, Kentucky.
Minerva Warriner, born 1828 in Tennessee; married Alexander A. Nelson 1846; died 1860-1862 in Marshall County, Kentucky.
Oma Jane Warriner, born 1835 in Missouri; married James Mathis Banks, 1850 in Marshall County, Kentucky; died 1875 in Marshall County, Kentucky.
In researching this family, I have run up against multiple issues, not the least of which is the inconsistent spelling of the last name:Wariner, Warriner, Warrener, Warren, Warner, etc.But none of the data I have found seems to line up with this particular family grouping.
The Kentucky Death Index gives Oma Jane Warriner Banks as the daughter of Archie & Oma Warner.
The 1850 Census records Oma in the household of her daughter Mary Warriner Cutchin, age 55 and born in Kentucky. If the birthdates of the above children are correct, and Oma was born in 1795, she could not have been the mother of Archibald, Eppa, John and possibly George.
The 1840 Census for Graves County, Kentucky, in which individuals are counted but not named, William Warriner has the correct amount of people in his household to account for his wife and children, plus four additional females who match nicely with Oma and her three youngest daughters:Mary, Minerva, and Jane. But there's no way to actually prove that was who they were.
The 1820 and 1830 Census showing Archibald Warren in White County, Tennessee, does not match up with this family group either.
Does anyone have a fresh perspective on this family?
