This information is part of a larger work, “Descendants of Samuel Warrick and Nancy Sutton Frazee” by Robert B. Warrick. For privacy reasons, where the descendants are or may be still alive, only their names are listed without birth dates or other pertinent information.

If you have any information to add to this list, namely other descendants, please email me so that they may be included in the final work for publication. Also, there are undoubtedly mistakes so please feel free to email me corrections also.

I have spent 25 years collecting this information from a multitude of sources. Many trips have been made to the Mormon Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as to many county genealogical libraries and cemeteries in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Hundreds of phone calls and written letters over the years have also yielded much information. I express gratitude to all who have helped in any way and hope that some will find this information beneficial.

A “+” appearing before an individual’s name indicates that the individual is shown further on in the manuscript as an adult with children. My sincere apologies for the formatting, GenForum does not lend itself to formatting well.

DESCENDANTS OF JONATHAN WARRICK

       FIRST GENERATION

1. Jonathan Warrick, son of Samuel Warrick and Ann "Nancy" Sutton Frazee. Born, 15 Nov 1807, in Clear Creek Twp., Warren Co., Ohio. Census: 1 Jun 1850, in p. 507, Washington Twp., Rush Co., Indiana. Occupation: Farmer.

It appears that when John A. Warrick did the research for his 1923 family history booklet, "Family of Samuel Warrick and Nancy Sutton Frazier", he failed to visit the Warricks in Rush County, Indiana, namely the families and descendants of Jonathan and Nathan Warrick. I have found very little about their lives but much about their descendants.

One note of interest from "A Rush County Retrospect", Vol II, p. 92. "1839. Gardner: Samuel Warrick purchased 160 acres in Center Township on 18 December 1839. Eighty acres of this land is now held in trust for Wallace Gardner and Thelma Jones, great great grandchildren of Warrick." This land was purchased by Samuel Warrick of Warren County, Ohio, apparently for his son Jonathan or as an investment, and later sold to his son Nathan (who was only twelve years old at the time the land was purchased). Both Jonathan and Nathan settled in the area married wives in this same county. (Though Nathan married his first wife in Fountain County.) Whether Samuel purchased the land for them as a gift or whether they paid him back is uncertain, although it is likely they paid him back. More recent research in the lands records of Rush County show that on 18 December 1839, Samuel Warrick of Warren Co., Ohio purchased 160 acres of land from Zachariah (Anderson?) for $1,200, being the northwest quarter of section 28, range 10 east, township 15 north. Two weeks later, on 2 January 1840, Jonathan Warrick of Warren Co., Ohio purchased 2 tracts of land (circa 30 acres?) from William Stephens in section 22 of range 10 east, township 15 north. Later records show that Samuel Warrick sold land to his son
Nathan on 8 Aug 1853, and Jonathan bought three more tracts from various parties on 26 Dec 1855, 21 Aug 1857, and 21 May 1860.
