Part Five Warren FamilyIn the Archives
John H. B. E. Warren was a soldier in the Revolutionary
War and came to Middle Tennessee with his wife and children now Charlottesville, Virginia in 1757.His pension papers states that he lived in Petersburg, Dinwiddle Co., Virginia and enlisted in the Army of the United States in 1777 with Captain Cadwallander Jones and served in the regurment commanded
by Col. Baylor at Fredericksburgh.He jointed General Washington about ten days after the battle of Germantown.After Col. Baylor was wounded, Major Clough wounded and taken prisionerand all the men who did not make their escape out tothe southern army.The places mentioned Monk's corner and Battle of Guilford Courthouse, and then Col. Lee led his
troups into South Carolina.They took Fort Scotch Lake and
Fort Thompson, or as some called it Fort Buck Head.He served
for three years and received a discharge.He rejoined the Army
as a substitute for a man who was drafted 18 months in
all he served four years and six months.His pension papers
are dated August 21, 1832, and he is on roll as a "soldier"
of Cavalry.On one of the book of accounts he is listed
the Drummer.
There are marriage records in Rutherford Co. in the
1820's where the rites were performed by the Reverend John H B E
Warren as the P.G. which means Preacher of the Gospel "
John Warren and his wife are listed in 1810 census with
5 boys.There are deeds, inventory, Sales Tax records
census for this John Warren, but no WILL located in 1836
however, his pension papers have notarized statement of each
of his children proving he was their father
