Hazel: The term, personality, refers to personal property, versus Reality, or real property (real estate). Pretty much anything of value, other than real estate property, was considered as personality. Such items as furniture, tools, utensils, even clothing, books, etc., are items usually referred to in old wills as "Personality". These items could be sold at auction or similar sale and the proceeds then given to the recipient of the personality gift if preferred. Hope this helps.
