Charles was a witness when Burris Warren registered the sale of a Negro boy to Thomas Warren on December 24, 1823, in Hickman Co., TN. He was a witness when Thomas Warren sold 26 acres to Sally Warren, which was registered on December 28, 1827, in Hickman Co., TN. He was a witness when Thomas Warren sold 5 acres to Sally Warren, Jr., which was registered on September 17, 1828, in Hickman Co., TN. According to A HISTORY of HICKMAN COUNTY, TENNESSEE, by Spence, 1900, page 311; "At a (Militia) muster at the Cross Roads, above Peeler's, in 1830, Meredith Hinson and Charles Warren, who had prior to this been friends, engaged in a pugilistic encounter, from the effects of which both died within two weeks." According to GOODSPEED'S BIOGRAPHICAL & HISTORICAL MEMOIRS of WESTERN ARKANSAS, POPE COUNTY, 1891;Dr. D. T. Warren of Atkins, Arkansas told of his parents, Charles and J. (Jones) Warren, natives of Tennessee. His father (Charles) was said to be a stone-mason by trade, and died in April, 1832. He told that his mother then moved to Mississippi in 1845, and resided there until her death in 1852.
