Hello Ric. Thanks for the reply. Your info may be correct. My Great Uncle William Warr did in fact marry an Emma Frances Thompson. Records show that they had three sons,William b.1896,Harry b.1898 and Fred b.1899. Great Uncle William was my grandfather,Thomas Fred Warr's younger brother who moved to Canada just before WW1. Uncle William's wife Emma died in childbirth to their daughter also named Emma Frances.
It seems likely that you and I are related. Where do you live? Australia? I live in Newfoundland. Long story. My father Fred Thomas Warr moved to Montreal in 1915 with my grandmother to meet up with my grandfather. We have lots of family history but there are still gaps. I am especially interested in this William Warr since he was in the military and I have a few pics of him that was given to me by a first cousin,Heather, Grand daughter of Uncle William's other brother Harry Warr b.1877.
If you look at genforum for Hall family and look for the thread on Sam Hall, Alice Hall, John Hall and Mary Hall you will see some info there on the Warr family. They were all from Hulme, in Manchester.
