Thanks again James for the quick response. I will let you know if and when I come across anything new on the 2nd U.S. Rifles.

Regarding acronyms, according to once source I found at:

<http://home.roadrunner.com/~gronj/service.htm>, the acronyms supposedly mean:

D.R = Descriptive Roll
R.R. = Recruiting return
O.B. = Order book
S.A.I.R. = Semi-Annual Inspection Return
S.A.M.R. = Semi-Annual Muster Roll
Jd = Joined
I.R. = Inspection return
Mo.Ret = monthly return

Another source indicated that DR meant Duty Roster and IR meant Infantry Roster. I was hoping to find an official document which provided a definition of the acronyms.

Cheers
