Francis is my ggg grandfather. I just found some of his service records, he served under Capt George Nelson in the 6th US Infantry and under Capt Henry Snells in 2nd Infantry Co G. He did die while lighthouse master at Ft Niagara. This was the old lighthouse as the one there now was built after his death. His wife acted as lighhouse master until a replacement was found.
