Robert Boyd, dob c1781 NC and dod Jul 14, 1863 Franklin Co., AL, always spelled his name "BOID" and lived in Mecklenburg Co., NC. He and was on the 1810 census there with four young daughters <10. I am descended from one of them, Sarah. Robert Boid is listed in the 8th Co 2nd Mecklenburg Rgt NC Militia on NC Muster Rolls 1812-1814. He fought in the Creek Indian War phase during campaigns in the Tallapoosa Valley areas of Alabama. For an interesting article, see my post at: http://ncgenweb.us/nc/mecklenburg/boyd-robert-war-of-1812/ I have an extensive file on Robert's descendants that include Boyd, Kizziah, Kizzire, and Newell families and would welcome any comments, criticism, etc. Regards, Jim Newell (jjnewell 'at' nehp 'dot' net)
