Roger Parke b 1755 Hunterdon Co NJ enlisted 1812 from Monongalia Co VA/WV as did three of his sons. Joseph Parke b 1791,George Parke b 1794
His youngest son Jonathan Parke enlisted in 1814 all from Monongalia Co. VA/WV
Roger Parke died as a result of his wounds captured and was sent to a POW camp in Quebec Canada.
The Canadian Archives has wonderful records on their POW's
Joseph & George Parke sometimes spelled Park/Parks in Monongalia Co Court records returned home & married both were also POW's. Joseph went to Wirt Co WV d 1861, George went to Coshocton Co OH d 1864. Jonathan d 1837 unmarried in Monongalia Co VA/WV
It is with Pride I write this to encourge others to seek their ancestors who fought in the Wars.
Note; Roger Parke was also a soldier in the Rev War from Loudoun Co VA. 1777-1778
