Searching for any info on John Hitchcock of Westmoreland, NY. Believe he may have been a volunteer in Porter's rgt, serving on the Niagara frontier. He married a Susannah Swain from Niagara Cty in 1815 & settled in Cambria. After she died, married Eliza Rouse. Served as Ft Niagara lighthouse keeper from 1850-53, then moved to Chicago area to live with his children from Susannah's marriage.
