Double Horse Burial at Ft Meigs, Ohio
Posted by: William Pickard (ID *****9119) Date: April 24, 2010 at 08:12:39

In 2001 a double horse burial was discovered at Ft Meigs, probably dating to the May 1813 siege. I am looking for a citation or reference concerning the same. I have found nothing in the general reference material on the May 1813 siege and it would likely be the type of obscure reference that could only be found in a personal diary or other writings. On May 5th 1813 John T. Johnson had his horse shot from under him while recalling a batallion in danger of rushing into an ambush. I'm trying to link Johnson to one of the horses in the burial feature.
Any help would be appreciated.
