Need Help Understanding NARA record
Posted by: Susan Grabek (ID *****3458) Date: January 06, 2009 at 14:16:44

Hello,

I need help understanding what some abbreviations mean. I have located some information about my ancestor in NARA Publication M233. I have a copy of an entry for him from a register page that includes his age, place of birth, etc. In the comments column, it includes the abbreviations M. R. and R. R. There is no explanation given as to what the abbreviations mean. I am guessing that M. R. is Muster Roll. An entry for another person says R. Roll, and someone else's entry on the page says D. R.

Does anyone know what the abbreviations stand for? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Susan
