Thanks! Yours: Denton's ranger company was a US Army company and not militia. Mine: That's what I discovered when I went searching for records of his military service. He enlisted for one year and was paid one dollar/day. As a consequence of what I found, I've become interested in his whole company's comings and goings for a period of about one year and would like to confirm (and add to) what I have learned by reviewing the service record for each and every member of the company for one year. The hard (and expensive) way to do that would be to order a "compiled service record" for anyone who I know to have been in the company. But, since I know that the "compile" record typically consists of abstracts from Company Muster Rolls and Company Pay Rolls, it seems to me that the quicker (and cheaper) way to satisfy my curiosity would be to obtain copies of the actual muster and pay rolls. So, if you don't mind and if you have an answer, here's a question for you: Do you know if (or think) it's possible for me to get NARA staff to copy the muster and pay rolls for the whole company for a year from it's organization?
