Hi Mark...
I did receive a bit more information on my Zachariah North.I have copies of his military papers, along with guardianship and land relinquishment papers.
"Pay Master General's Office
City of Washington
July 12th, 1817
I certify, that it appears from Capt. Eliott's (Company) Muster Roll of the late 19th Reg. of U. States Infantry, that Zachariah North, a Corporal of that company, enlisted on the 21st of June 1812, for 5 Years, and, died, alias killed, on the 5th of May 1813.
Robert Brent"
I was having problems finding any information on Zachariah. All of the 1812 info. I looked at showed no Zachariah.I learned later that Zachariah was in the regular army and not the militia. (I'm still not real clear as to the difference between the regulars and the militia.
Zachariah left Shenandoah Co., VA and settled in Fairfield Co., OH where he married Dorothy Marks in 1804.
Unfortunately, none of the military information gives a clue as to his age or parentage. There's another Zachariah North who fought in the Rev. War and some think it's the same man.I think he'd be rather old to have fought in both wars and to have children born in 1805, 1807, and 1809.
Thanks for your message.
