If you can find the marriage cert for James and Maria then you can confirm their father's names. Have you looked on this web site?

They are supposed to have ALL birth marriage and death certs. The charge is small if you look within a narrow range of years.
You can also order a cert on line (very safe....I do it all the time) and the charge is about $15. It takes about 3 weeks to get the certs here in California.
Also, have you seen Genuki Norfolk? Lots of interesting stuff and a look-up exchange.
