In our old Warneke family bible were the names: William Warneke, died Dec. 19, 1869: Elizabeth Meyer Warneke, died July 9, 1888: Frank Warneke, died July 3, 1860: August Warneke, died Jan. 19, 1876. They all were in Germany somewhere.
My grandfather, Fred H. Warneke, born 1847, came from Germany and the story goes he and his brother were stowaways to America. (I have no proof of this) Because of no proof, I do not know where he came from in Germany.
Do any of these names sound familiar?
