Brian,
It's a small world after all. I, too, am from Pontiac, MI. I am descended from Thomas Truman Greenfield Waring of Greenup, Kentucky. He of the Warings of Maryland. Then going back to our Sampson Waring in the mid 1600s England to Virginia to Maryland.

A great aunt of mine from Missouri kept close tabs on the Warings and I think led us to believe the Fred Waring and his choir the Pennsyvanians were related. Probably not true.

I was born in Pontiac (on Summit Street and later grew up in Huron Gardens) because my dad's mother moved the family from Arkansas in the 1920s to find work at Pontiac Motors.

Are you still living in Michigan? We really never met any other Warings at the time I lived there. And probably wouldn't have a clue whether we were related or not.

Funny, the twists and turns of genealogy.

Jim Bray
